Circulation and Fire exits

Fire exits

In the underground the distance to the nearest fire exit is vital. Buildings are classified through different purpose groups to represent different levels of hazard. Peckhmas possible underground walkway would fall into group 4 (shops and commercial) and 5 (assembly and recreation) Both of these groups are the same distance-wise for a fire escape to be placed.

Commercial buildings have a maximum travel distance of 18 m in one direction and 45 meters in more than one direction.
The number of escape routes depends on the number of occupants and the limits of travel distance to the nearest exit.

How they will be layout

I calculated the width and height that the stairs would need to be to allocate lots of people to go up them. I made a model on Revit to show how it would work.

Below is an illustration of how the fire exit might work, showing the underground walkway and Rye Lane. Many of these spaces would be arranged along Rye Lane, which could be multi-purposeful. They could be covered in greenery, used as seating, and protection from the rain.
